Over the past 2022, Burgas Airport has seen a significant increase in the number of passengers, namely: 72% more compared to 2021, which equals 1.63 million passengers. 12,293 flights were serviced, of which 5489 were regular and 5169 were charter. Flight programs of 50 airlines in 85 directions were completed. It is very important to note that this growth came against the background of a lack of flights from the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Belarus, which were among the main markets for the sea airport. 6 new airlines operated flights from and to Burgas airport and 2 new routes were added - Antalya, Turkey and Zelena Gora, Poland.
In 2023, new direct routes are expected - from Poznan (Poland), Kaunas (Lithuania) and Dublin (Ireland) by Ryanair, from Riga (Latvia) by airBaltic and from Szczecin (Poland) by European Air Charter. Burgas Airport is ready for the early start of the summer season and already at the end of March 2023 will serve regular and charter flights to/from 10 destinations from 6 countries.
